fabric and dress at the V&A

I am thrilled to be able to attend this one-off course at the V&A in London, being shown around the archives at the Clothworkers’ Centre, listening to lectures and playing with the new handling resource, the State of (Early Modern) Undress (pictured).

Crafting Anatomies

Crafting Anatomies was the first public outing of the Electric Corset project in January 2015. We showed garments selected from the costume and textiles archive at Newstead Abbey, with the help of Judith Edgar, the curator.

The exhibition was curated by Amanda Briggs-Goode, Rhian Solomon and Katherine Townsend – members of the Creative Textiles Research Group at Nottingham Trent University.
